Minimum System Requirements & Recommended Settings
To ensure that CircleLoop runs as smoothly as possible, we recommend that you download and install the client on a desktop system that meets the following requirements:
Windows

-
Works with most modern PCs, including those with Intel Core i5, i7, or AMD Ryzen processors
-
Windows 10 or later (64-bit strongly recommended).
Mac OS

-
macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later
-
Compatible with both Intel-based Macs and Apple Silicon (M1, M2).
Web browsers
If you are a full CircleLoop user, you can also access your account through your web browser. Click here for the app download links page.
-
Chrome (highly recommended)
-
Edge
-
Safari
-
Firefox can be used for CircleLoop, however, this browser is not officially supported by us, so you may experience issues.
We highly recommend you use Google Chrome as your default browser.
Mobile
iOS (iPhone)
-
iPhone requires iOS 16.6 or later
Android
-
Requires Android 9 or later
-
Compatible with most modern Android devices
The CircleLoop mobile app is available from both the App Store and the Google Play Store, however, some internaitonal download restrictions may apply. For the best experience, keep your device’s operating system up to date and ensure it meets the minimum requirements.
Headset requirements
For clear and reliable call quality, we strongly recommend using a high-quality USB headset. Built-in microphones on most computers are not suitable for business calls.
-
Make sure the microphone is positioned at a comfortable distance from your mouth
-
Check that input volume levels are appropriate
-
We suggest performing test calls with a colleague to confirm audio clarity
If you connect your headset while the app is already open, it should be recognised automatically. However, we recommend connecting your headset before launching the app to ensure it’s correctly detected.
Please refer to the Audio Settings help article for guidance on using your headset with our desktop apps.
Network requirements
A stable network connection is essential for reliable call quality. Keep in mind that voice performance depends on more than just internet speed.
Wired connection
Always use a wired Ethernet connection. Wi-Fi can be unreliable and is not recommended for consistent call quality. If your device doesn’t have an Ethernet port, USB Ethernet adapters are widely available.
If you’re unsure about what you need, please contact our support team.
Quality of Service (QoS) and recommended network settings
To maintain high call quality and stability, we recommend enabling Quality of Service (QoS) on your network router:
-
Prioritises voice traffic over other types of network activity
-
Helps prevent call issues caused by users streaming, downloading, or browsing during calls
-
Reduces impact of network congestion, ensuring more consistent audio quality
Additional recommendations:
-
If you're using a router that supports QoS, we recommend reviewing our general networking settings article for further guidance
Bandwidth Requirements
To ensure stable and high-quality audio during calls, your internet connection must meet the following requirements:
-
Each concurrent CircleLoop call requires approximately 100 Kbps of both upload and download bandwidth
-
In addition to call traffic, CircleLoop also uses bandwidth for background activity such as syncing contacts, updating the activity feed and maintaining account settings
-
Other applications running on your computer will also consume bandwidth, which can impact overall performance
-
Bandwidth is shared across your network, so activity from other users or devices can also affect call quality
Recommended bandwidth allowance:
-
As a general rule, allow for 1 Mbps per user
-
For example, a team of 10 users would typically require at least a 10 Mbps connection
-
This estimate should be used as a guideline only. Actual usage may vary depending on your environment and other network demands
Even if you have enough bandwidth available, it’s still important to meet all other network requirements, such as using a wired connection and enabling Quality of Service (QoS), to maintain reliable voice performance
If you’re unsure whether your current setup is suitable, please contact our support team for further assistance
